Hospitalists are physicians who devote their practice to the care of hospitalized patients. They treat hospitalized patients who have been referred by primary care physicians, emergency room physicians or other physicians at the hospital. Hospitalists are based in the hospital and will manage and coordinate all aspects of your hospital stay at Navarro Regional Hospital, from admission until discharge. Hospitalists will work closely with your primary care physician and any consulting physicians involved in your care.
The hospitalists at Navarro Regional Hospital manage and coordinate every aspect of your stay, from the time you are admitted to the hospital to your release to go home. Hospitalists are full-time hospital employees who coordinate with your primary care doctor, and are here, 24/7, to answer any questions that you or your family members might have. If you need to see a specialist while under our care, the hospitalist will also coordinate your treatment and keep other members of your care team up to date on your condition and your needs.
If you don’t have a primary care doctor, we can help you find one. Your medical records will be sent to your doctor’s office after you’re discharged, so that he or she can resume primary responsibility for your treatment.
If you need to speak to a hospitalist while you or a loved one is here, please ask your attending nurse to page the hospitalist on duty, or call (903) 654-6800.
